The daily grind

Running repairs on paper and WhatsApp is costing you hours.

Every independent shop has the same three problems. Sound familiar?

01

The “is it ready?” calls

Customers ring all day asking for updates. Every call pulls you off the bench mid-repair.

02

Tickets on scraps of paper

Repairs tracked in a notebook or on sticky notes. Things get lost. Nobody can find the details.

03

No record of what happened

A customer disputes a price or a timeline and you’ve nothing written down to back you up.

See it in action

A repair lifecycle, end to end.

From the customer walking in the door to walking back out with their device fixed.

01 — INTAKE

Log a repair in 30 seconds at the counter.

Customer name, phone number, device, what’s wrong with it, rough quote. Returning customers are recognised by phone number, so their history is right there. Photos of the device come in next — front, back, screen, any existing damage. Disputes disappear.

  • Repeat customer recognition
  • Intake photos (front, back, screen, damage)
  • Initial quote & expected completion

02 — WORKFLOW

One tap moves it through the workflow.

Received → diagnosed → awaiting approval → awaiting parts → repairing → ready. The next step is always the obvious one. Your bench tech can keep working; the counter staff can answer “where’s Tom’s iPad?” in two seconds without interrupting them. Add photos during the repair if something needs documenting.

  • Clear status workflow, one-tap updates
  • During-repair photos for documentation
  • Internal technician notes (not customer-facing)

03 — CUSTOMER

The customer gets texted automatically.

The moment you mark a repair ready, your customer gets a text with their device, the shop’s name, and a link to a tracking page they can check any time. They stop ringing. You get your afternoon back. The tracking page is branded with your shop — it’s your customer experience, not ours.

  • Automatic SMS the moment status changes
  • Per-shop branded tracking page
  • Tracking link in every SMS

The maths

One screen repair a month covers it.

Rivet costs less than a single screen replacement. Here’s what it gives you back.

15–20
“Is it ready?” calls a week

Each one interrupts a repair in progress. Automatic texts mean customers stop ringing to ask.

€2.63
A day

That’s the whole cost of running your shop’s admin on Rivet. Less than a coffee.

€240+
Saved a year

Versus the big platforms at €100–120 a month — up to €480 a year — for features an independent shop never touches.

Why this exists

Built in Ireland, for independent shops.

Independent repair shops run busy operations on paper tickets, WhatsApp threads, and constant interruption calls. The established platforms want €100–120 a month for twenty features nobody in a small shop ever uses. Nobody was building the simple, focused tool these shops actually needed.

So I built it — every line of it, myself. Rivet does the core daily workflow properly and stops there. It’s built here, supported here, and priced for the size of shop it’s made for.

When you email Rivet, you get me. Not a ticket queue in another timezone.

Why Rivet

The big tools do everything. You only need the bit that matters.

How it works

Three taps. The customer gets texted automatically.

Simple enough to use between customers, fast enough not to slow you down.

STEP 01

Log the repair

Customer, device, problem, quote — in 30 seconds. Returning customers recognised by phone.

STEP 02

Update the status

Diagnosed, awaiting parts, repairing, ready — one tap moves it forward.

STEP 03

Customer gets texted

Marked ready, the customer gets an automatic text with a link. They stop ringing.

FAQ

Questions before you start.

Do I need a contract?+

No. Rivet is month-to-month. Cancel any time from your dashboard — no questions, no penalties.

What happens during the 14-day trial?+

You sign up, add a card to your account (no charge), and have full access for 14 days. Nothing is charged until day 15. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.

What’s included in the 500 texts a month?+

Every automatic status text Rivet sends your customers counts towards the monthly allowance. Most shops use well under it. If your shop is busy enough to go over regularly, get in touch and we’ll sort out a higher allowance — you’ll never be cut off mid-month without warning.

Is there a limit on repairs or staff?+

No. Log as many repairs as you like and give every member of your team access. Rivet doesn’t charge per user or cap your monthly tickets — a busy month shouldn’t cost you more than a quiet one.

How do my customers receive the SMS?+

The moment you mark a repair ready, Rivet sends an SMS to the customer’s phone with your shop name as the sender, their device, and a tracking link. Standard text message — no app required on their side.

Where is my data stored?+

Your data is hosted on EU servers and encrypted in transit and at rest. Your customer data belongs to you, is never sold or shared, and you can export or delete it at any time. Full details are in the privacy policy.

What if I’m using another tool right now?+

Most shops are using paper, WhatsApp, or a spreadsheet. Switching to Rivet takes about ten minutes — new repairs start in Rivet from day one, and you keep your old records wherever they are. If you’ve a lot of history you want brought across, get in touch and I’ll help you do it.

What devices does Rivet work with?+

Any device your shop repairs — phones, tablets, laptops, consoles, anything. Rivet doesn’t care what the device is; it tracks the repair.

Does it work on mobile?+

Yes. The whole product is designed for phones and tablets at the counter, not just desktops. Snap intake photos with your phone, update statuses on the go.

What happens if I cancel?+

Cancel any time from billing settings. Your account stays accessible until the end of your current month, and you can export your repair history before you go.
